Notice Regarding the Introduction of Renewable Energy via Virtual PPA

Nabeya Bi-tech Kaisha (NBK) will introduce de facto renewable energy through an off-site virtual Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)*¹ provided by Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc.

This initiative utilizes the environmental value generated by the Abekawa Hydroelectric Power Station (located in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), constructed by Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. The contract period spans 20 years starting from April 2025, and is expected to reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1,178 tons. This reduction corresponds to 23.52% of the CO₂ emissions from electricity consumption at our two main facilities—Seki Plant and Mino Plant—in 2024.

In addition, at our Mino Plant, an on-site solar PV system for self-consumption began operation in May 2024, and at our Seki Plant will start in April 2025. Together, they are projected to cut annual greenhouse-gas emissions by about 1,414 tons. As a result, 28.61% of the CO₂ emissions from 2024 electricity consumption will be covered by renewable and de facto renewable energy sources.

With the goal of achieving a carbon-neutral society, NBK is committed to reaching 100% renewable energy usage and will continue to strengthen its sustainability initiatives.
