Nabeya Bi-tech Kaisha (NBK) is pleased to announce that we have submitted a letter of commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*²—the organization that evaluates and approves Science Based Targets (SBT)*¹, which are greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions-reduction targets aligned with the Paris Agreement. With this submission, we formally express our intention to pursue official SBTi certification.

Through this commitment, we will establish greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions-reduction targets over a 5- to 10-year horizon within the next two years. These targets will apply not only to NBK but also to our overseas subsidiaries and their supply chains, contributing to emissions reductions across the entire NBK Group.

At NBK, we recognize environmental conservation—beginning with the promotion of decarbonization—as one of our key management priorities. By obtaining SBT certification and pursuing science-based GHG reduction targets, we will strive to realize a sustainable society and further advance our sustainable management practices.
